pumpkinsTomorrow is the big day. Are you ready?  Do you have the costumes picked out and ready to go. Got that candy ready and the house decorated?

For those of you who don’t have it all together I’m here to help.

Trick-or-Treating Tips

  • Always have a grown up go with children around the neighborhood. Even if they are teens it’s still good to have someone watch over them.
  • Take a flashlight or wear a glowing bracelet or necklace.
  • Make sure you can be seen. Sometimes when it’s dark outside it’s hard to see someone in a costume. Wear something that reflects the light or light clothing.
  • Watch out for cars.
  • Visit only the houses with lights on.
  • Make sure you are familiar with the neighborhood.
  • Try not to wear a costume that it to long. You don’t want to trip on it.
  • Don’t eat any candy until you get home and can inspect it.
  • Lastly have fun and get lots of good yummy stuff.

Last Minute Costumes

Look at your children’s clothes you never know what they might have that could transform into a great costume.

Take a pair of black sweat pants and a black turtle neck or black shirt and use your eye liner to make a cat face on your child.

Use a white sheet or blanket to make a ghost.

Use a pair of overalls and a plaid shirt of some sort and be a cowboy or a farmer or a rodeo clown.

Use a team t-shirt to become a huge fan of your favorite team. Paint your hair the color of the team, write on your face.

Little girls can transform into a princess pretty easy by visiting your dollar store you can find a crown and a wand for only a $1 each.

Look for camouflaged clothes and become an army man or woman.

Use a cute pair of pj’s for a costume along with some house shoes that would be safe to wear outside. Girls can put curlers in their hair and boys can just use gel or mouse to make their hair look messy.

Be a 80’s star. Girls can stack their bangs and do a side pony tail.

Visit the $1 store to find things you can use for a costume or visit your local stores for a costume if your not able to make one.

Get creative. You never know what could be right there in your closets.
